L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base

Makeup bases are not something I use a lot, aside from mattifying ones on the T- Zone as I worry they'll be too moisturizing or break me out. I need the help making makeup last longer though.

The new L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base is very matte on and has no moisturizers , so it just may work . At first I wasn't so sure even after applying makeup , but when I looked a half hour later and everything had time to really set, I was pleasantly surprised. . How it compares to other brands I can't say , but with this my makeup looked good. Matte, but not dry, smooth and perfected.

The best part here though, is that it makes a great eyeshadow base. It works better on my eyes than most eye primers I have tried. I plan to keep using it for that purpose and on the face occasionally. ( Mind you, I have no idea if you are supposed to use it near your eyes , but the box doesn't say not to).

Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base is available now in all mass market outlets and www.lorealparis.com for $ 12.95

"It didn't say not too" OOh I do this too! I never thought to put it on my eyes but will give it a whirl!

I am really impressed by this little goodie and it really does work. The true test is coming soon and the warmer muggier weather is coming to Texas quickly.

And when you can score it on sale at your local drug store, even better.

JoElla, I agree, the humid weather will be the test, for many products . It gets extremely humid here in NJ too, and can really wipe out makeup.
Good luck :)

Hello Beauty Alchemist!

I am glad to read your blog about L'oreal studio secrets primer. I am thinking about using this as an eyeshadow primer. Can you please tell me if this works good too as a sub for eyeshadow primer? I am currently using Urban Decay potion primer but it is sooo expensive! Please let me know how you like it, and how long did the eyeshadow last when u tried it as an eyeshadow base. THANK YOU beauty alchemist!!!

Hi Dianne, you'll see in the post that I mention that I am using this as an eyeshadow base and how well it works. I get about half a day from it, but using me as an idea of how it works isn't good as everything melts on me very fast . Therefore this has been working better than most so far.
